In 1856 Thomas Couture painted the artwork. The version of the artwork was painted with the size ongeraam: 78,4 x 41,9 cm (30 7/8 x 16 1/2 duim) geraam: 96 x 60 cm (37 13/16 x 23 5/8 duim). The painter was born in 1815 in Senlis, Hauts-de-France, France and deceased at the age of 64 in 1879 in Villiers-le-Bel, Ile-de-France, Frankryk.
